From January to May, China Dongfeng Motor Industry
Import and Export Corporation (“DFMIEC”) exported 4,131 vehicles, a
year-on-year increase of 275%. In May, DFMIEC exported 965 vehicles, 3.8 times
the figure of the same period last year, which has achieved the best monthly
export volume since 2021. Compared with the same period in 2019 before the
COVID-19 pandemic, the export growth rate in the first five months of this year
has exceeded 102%. As of November 2020, DFMIEC has maintained positive export growth
for 7 consecutive months, showing increasingly stable and upward trend of the
export market. Under the circumstances of a sharp increase in international
freight rates, a severe shortage of transportation capacity and continuous
overseas pandemic, DFMIEC has actively explored market opportunities in the South
American region by overcoming great difficulties, and has exported 2,868
vehicles from January to May, five times the figure of the same period last
year.
In addition to steady and orderly progress of its
daily export business, DFMIEC has also achieved outstanding performance in the
export of second-hand cars.
On May 11, 2021, with the approval of Guangzhou
Huangpu Customs, 8 NEV sedans exported from DFMIEC to Ukraine completed customs
clearance, being the “first export order” of second-hand cars in Wuhan city.
Moreover, more follow-up orders for second-hand cars are also in full swing.
DFMIEC is expected to open up a new foreign trade growth point in the export
business of second-hand cars.
